Howard Goodall CBE is one of Britain's best-known composers of choral music, stage musicals, TV and film scores. His tuneful and accessible requiem for a young person, ‘Eternal Light’ is an appropriate companion piece to Brahms’s German Requiem which will be heard in our Spring 2026 concert on March 14th. Both approach the issue of death and loss from a modern perspective and blend poetry with fragments of liturgical text. Both focus on bringing compassion to the bereaved and both were written in response to the loss of people ‘before their time’.
Alongside this will be a selection of popular and summery short choral works and entertaining solos befitting of our participation in the 2026 Richmond MayFest
