In Memory of Janet Hall

This concert was dedicated to the memory of soprano Janet Hall, our recent former Chair. Elijah was a favourite of her's which she was keenly anticipating singing. We were delighted to be joined by family, friends and former colleagues of Janet to share this special occasion.

If you attend our concerts you can't fail to notice our impressive staging which looks permanent but is actually totally collapsible. It is stored between concerts by local removals company Dowse of Richmond Ltd who deliver it and remove it afterwards. We would like to thank them here for that service to us.

Richmondshire Choral Society would also like to thank Richmond Town Council and Company of Grocers, Mercers and Haberdashers of Richmond for grants enabling us to buy and improve the staging. Pictures and more information elsewhere on this site.

Thank you also to Lidl supermarket, Richmond, who have generously supplied the fruit juice for our concerts.

Featured Event

Our first concert of the 2026 is on Saturday 14th MARCH. The main work is Brahms's German Requiem which we will be singing in English. The work shaped Brahms’s career and established his reputation as a stand-out Romantic period composer demonstarting an outpouring of intense emotional expression.

The evening performance includes reputed concert and stage soloists and 'four hands' piano accompaniment by Andrew Christer and Alison Gill.

We look forward to seeing you at St Mary's Church, Richmond.
