Music Director Vacancy

Information for applicants for the position of
Music Director of Richmondshire Choral Society

Thank you for your interest in this position. Our present MD is nearing the end of his current 2 year contract and finds that the increasing responsibilities of his full time teaching job no longer allow him to devote the time he would wish to the needs of Richmondshire Choral Society. He has worked well with the choir and we are extremely sorry to lose him but understand the demands upon him.

There is detailed information on the following three documents:

DOC 1 Information for applicants

DOC 2 Job description

DOC 3 Person specification

It is envisaged that remuneration will be by a payment to cover all activities, payable termly in arrears at a rate to be negotiated. The start of the contracted period will be 1 June 2018 to conform with the Society’s financial year and it is hoped that the new MD will be able to attend the major committee meeting of the year held in late June at which future programmes are planned.

A DBS disclosure is not currently essential for this post as the choir does not have young people or vulnerable adults in its membership. Should circumstances change, a satisfactory DBS disclosure may be required for the MD to continue in the post.
